Calibration
A calibration confirms that not only does your torque wrench perform as the manufacturer intended, but includes additional testing requirements to calculate the uncertainty of the tool, which greatly expands upon the knowledge and performance of your Torque wrench.
Our traceable Calibrations ensure that your torque wrench is not only functioning correctly but also that its measurements are traced back to a reliable and verifiable source. This means the calibration of your tool can be linked step-by-step back to national and international standards, giving you the utmost confidence in its accuracy.
Please see below for an example of a Calibration Certificate.

Is Your Torque Wrench Calibrated to the Latest Standards?
The field of calibration is constantly advancing. It’s important to note that some calibration companies continue to use the now-withdrawn Australian Standard (AS4115-1993), which became obsolete in 2017. We urge you to check your most recent calibration certificate. Is your torque wrench calibrated to the latest international standards?
Declaration of Conformance vs. Calibration Certificate
Please consult the table below in order to help you decide whether you need a Declaration of Conformance, or a Calibration Certificate for your Torque Wrench.
Declaration of Conformance (ISO6789:2017 Part 1)
Origin: Largely similar to the withdrawn Australian Standard AS4115-1993.
Details: This test ensures the torque wrench is functioning to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Duration: Tests under Part 1 are typically complete within 15 minutes.
Result: Your tool will be issued a “Declaration of Conformance.”
Calibration Certificate (ISO6789:2017 Part 2)
Development: Part 2 greatly expands upon Part 1 by including the intricacies of uncertainties in measurement.
Duration: Given its comprehensive nature, tests under Part 2 can span up to an hour.
Cost: As these tests are more detailed, obtaining a “Calibration Certificate” is understandably more expensive.
Result: Your tool will be given a meticulous “Calibration Certificate.”

Which One is Right for You?
For most organisations, a “Declaration of Conformance” is all that you need, ensuring that the tool operates correctly in accordance with the manufacturers specifications. From the table above, you can see that a ISO6789 Part 1 “Declaration of Conformance” essentially replaces the withdrawn AS 4115 standard which your torque wrench was previously “Calibrated” against.
However, if your compliance requirements demand knowledge of the uncertainty and performance of your equipment, or if your quality control protocols demand it, a “Calibration Certificate” is indispensable.
